For Your Information

My day to day phone calls and Prior Authorization requests range from uninteresting, bizarre, void of information, to exceedingly ridiculous. I speak with patients, nurses, office staff, pharmacies, and doctors all day every day. Sometimes these interactions are productive, sometimes, not so much. This is where I vent my frustrations and share the good, bad, and obscenely ignorant.

I am tested daily on how to remain on my best behavior, while providing important information. Every now and then, I am compelled to snap at someone-but in a very pertinent way!

My stories are true but I leave out identifying details to protect those I work with, the providers, and the patients. I adhere to HIPAA law so nobody gets in trouble, namely me. Some stories are composites, some are synopses.

Yes, I do share personal stories because some things are just worth mentioning, they are funny, or fun to recount, some just make my blood boil. Enjoy!
